When I met Rob, Shaq, and the rest of the original Burners crew in summer 2023, I was caught in a thick, relentless haze, finding myself unemployed, uncertain and deeply unhappy in New York City. From day one, minute one, the team made me feel like I had always been there. They set my soul on fire and reshaped my relationship with both myself and physical fitness forever.

Today, the Burners are a registered 501(c)(3) and have ballooned in size to hundreds of members. We’ve provided $200,000 in scholarships to dozens of our student athletes, and countless opportunities to our incredible community of runners both youth and adult, myself included. I’m honored to fundraise for this organization and can’t imagine running the NYC Marathon for the first time any other way.

Every dollar raised by the Bronx Burners Marathon Team gets funneled directly back to the student athletes in our community. Every donation enables opportunities that can change the trajectory of a student’s life. Your support means the world to me because this team means the world to me.
