My son Amare was born 10 weeks early, weighing 3# 14 oz. He was in the NICU for almost 8 weeks. Without the amazing care from all the people at Children's Hospital, he wouldn't have made it, or be as healthy as he is today. Being premature, a child faces so many unnecessary challenges. They are poked, prodded, blood transfusions, ROP tests, making sure there is no blood on their brains, forgetting to breath, feeding tubes...Some of which, you as a parent aren't even aware of until later years. I hope to help ensure more babies are born on time, and healthy!
