Most of you already know why Childrens NICU is so dear to our hearts but for those who don't hear is our/Jackson's story.

Adam and I were expecting our first child and we couldn't have been more excited about it. We knew we were having a boy and he was due on August 27, 2013. Everything was going smoothly until I was 28 weeks pregnant. I went to the dr for a checkup and found out I was already dilated to 1 cm. I was scared to death! Since this was my first pregnancy I wasn't really prepared for anything, especially any complications. I was put on bed rest and monitored very closely. Jackson ended up being born at 32 weeks, July 3, 2013. He weighed 4lbs 5oz and was 18 inches long. He was taken to the NICU almost immediately to be checked out. To our relief, he was completely healthy. All of his organs were working as they should and he was breathing on his own, he was just little! Jackson spent 3 weeks to the day at Childrens NICU and I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for him and us. The nurses there treated him as if he was their child. They also took the time to sit and talk with us to help us with the transition of having a newborn baby that we couldn't take home. As hard as that time was I am grateful for the experience we had.

There are a lot of other families out there whose stories are much worse than ours. Babies that come way too early and need lots of help in order to survive. Childrens NICU relies on donations from you in order to help support the families and pay for things needed in the NICU. This is a wonderful fundraiser and all the money stays here locally.
