Puget Sound Buddy Walk 2021

The Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound (DSC) is proud to present the 25th Annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk® - a day of celebration to promote the acceptance, inclusion, and respect of individuals with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk is the DSC of Puget Sound’s largest awareness and fundraising event of the year.

2021 marks the 25th Anniversary of DSC of Puget Sound’s Annual Buddy Walk! A major milestone that we are excited to be celebrating with you!

Join DSC on Sunday, October 10th for a hybrid celebration to bring the community together for a fun day of Buddy Walk®.

There is no better place to show your support than through DSC's Annual Buddy Walk. Together, we walk to celebrate the extraordinary lives of people with Down syndrome and raise much needed funds to provide programs, support, resources, outreach and advocacy to our community.

The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. Over 300,000 people walk from coast to coast and around the world each year.

We are planning an in-person event at
Downtown Bellevue Park .

We will be following Washington state’s mask mandate and observing social distancing. While we hope to see all of you at the Bellevue Downtown Park, if you do not feel comfortable gathering we encourage you to participate virtually-walk in your neighborhood, at a local park, on your favorite trail, in your driveway, or anywhere else you have in mind!

We are all adjusting to the new normal and just want to stay safe and protect our loved ones!

All volunteers, staff, and vendors will be required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Those that pass out food will be wearing gloves and frequently sanitizing.
We do encourage wearing masks in congested areas and lines.
All t-shirts will be mailed to participants prior to the event date.

The teams who raise more than $500 will have their team names printed on the Event T-Shirt. The $500 must be raised before 9/23/21 to have your team name printed on the T-Shirt.

The Top Three (3) Fundraising Teams as of midnight on October 9th will:

Receive a custom BW plaque
An Inclusion GlassyBaby
DSC BW Goody Bag!
Six (6) admission tickets to Woodland Park Zoo
Be recognized by DSC on all social media platforms

All Super Star Teams raising more than $500 as of midnight of October 9th will receive:

Two (2) Admission Tickets to Woodland Park Zoo

You can register multiple people in one session. Please carefully follow the instructions for ordering t-shirts.
Event t-shirts are optional. T-Shirt orders will close 9/23/21. T-shirts are $15 and free for Walkers with Down syndrome.
