Community Link Buddy Walk 2025

Join Community Link as we celebrate all of the Kings and Queens in our life with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. Our 20th Annual Buddy Walk is at Northside Park in Breese, Il on September 19, 2026. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or want to show your support of any person with developmental disabilities, take the first step and donate or register today. 97.5% of money raised stays in our community. The National Down Syndrome Society receives 2.5% for advocacy and public awareness initiatives that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome. Help us spread the word! All are welcome for our day of celebration.

Due to the hot weather predicted, for the safety and comfort of attendees, we are moving up the Buddy Walk schedule to be 1 hour earlier. We encourage attendees to arrice by 9am for our activities, including our karaoke performances anf fashion show, which will now be before the walk.

The walk will be a shorter route at 10am, followed by time to enjoy all of the activities, including food and drink for purchase, our NEW East Side Shenanigans Artwork Silent Auction, raffles, crown and slap bracelet decorating, face painting, cookie decorating, yard games, and art and exhibitor tables.

Raffles and Silent Auction will end at 11am.

For the second time in Community Link Buddy Walk history, the t-shirt design includes artwork by a talented Community Link participant. This year, participants could choose to submit artwork, and all staff and participants voted on which artwork best represented the walk. Erik S, at Breese East, was our grand winner!
