My name is Dottie !

This is my story and I'm sticking to it !

HI !  My name is Dottie.  When I came to CHS, I was a mess. I was immediately put in a foster home so my foster mom (who later adopted me) could turn me into a healthy dog.  At first, I was a skeleton covered in patchy sore-covered skin and ears.  I did not even have hair on my nose or tail because my care and nutrition had been pretty bad.  I also had (and still have) a broken front leg.  The x-rays indicate I was held by my front leg and twirled around.  My leg isn't even attached at the elbow, and the toes on my left foot point backwards !   I can use my bad leg a little for support and holding a rawhide, so they decided not to amputate my leg.  It doesn't hurt and I can run and chase turkeys faster than any dog with four good legs.  My bad leg just flaps in the breeze as I zoom around the yard.  Besides a bad leg, I have a gastric condition which my mom says is a bigger problem than my leg.

I have lots of animal friends. The deer think I am their little sister and the turkeys and cranes let me chase them.  They come right back to get chased again.  I also have kitty and other doggy friends.  I have lots of people friends too.  I love all my neighbors and I pester them until they pick me up and hold me.  Because my mom is a volunteer at CHS, I also get to go to nursing home facilities once a month with other CHS animals to hang out with our senior citizen friends.

I know from first hand experience that CHS helps lots of homeless and special needs animals like me.  That is why I am asking all my friends (and even strangers!) to vote for me.  Please help me to help the homeless and medically fragile animals who come to CHS.
