Because I have no idea what to get my relatives for Christmas this year, I’ve entered my Yorkipoo Buckeye, a.k.a. “Barkeye” and “The Terrierist,” in Dog-Harmony’s 2023 calendar contest. That means I’m asking you for money. I need to raise enough to beat out other competitors vying for one of the 12 calendar dog spots. Any donation is appreciated. It goes to a great nonprofit that works to keep dogs out of shelters. Buckeye was dumped at a shelter himself. For every $50 donation, however, you will receive a dozen homemade “Buckeye” candies, an Ohio delicacy that’s basically a Reese’s peanut butter cup on crack. Give $100, and you receive TWO dozen; $150, THREE dozen. You get the idea. NOTE: Any donor who doesn’t live around here or Alaska will not receive their candy shipment until fall/winter. Dry ice is scary. For even MORE FUN, I’m also having a “Buckeye Bash” from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Props Ale House in Niceville. We’ll be raffling off sweet prizes and selling Buckeye candies on the spot. O-H-I-O!
