Your support will help build a new puppy training yard in the minimum security space at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon.
In 1995, Coffee Creek Correctional was the first prison in the country to partner with Canine Companions to raise and train dogs to be specially matched with a person with a disability, and at no cost to the recipient. This program builds confidence and success for both the handlers and the dogs.
In 2025, the puppy raising program at Coffee Creek expanded from the medium security area to a second training area in the minimum security area, creating the need for a new outdoor puppy training yard.
Did you know?
Over 200 puppies for Canine Companions have been raised and trained at Coffee Creek since 1995.
Currently, 24 puppies are being trained in the program at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility.
Over 125 incarcerated puppy raisers have since been released from Coffee Creek with a very low rate of recidivism.
Graduation success rates for dogs trained at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility exceed the national rate by comparison.
These dogs go on to become service dogs that provide greater independence and an amazing lifetime partnership.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift will provide a much-needed training yard and help ensure the program's continued success.
Every dollar counts! Together, we can change lives four paws at a time.
