For me, the path of fostering started on the coldest day of January when my neighbor's shyest dog gave birth to a litter of puppies. From 1 day old I helped mama dog raise her pups and found homes for them.
Four years ago, my family started our foster journey with CARE. A little grey dust ball kitten showed up in our chicken coup being eaten alive by maggots and fleas. We cleaned her up and nursed her wounds. Our neighbors found a sleek black panther kitten a few days after and siblings were reunited, Gizmo and Toothless. Another cat showed up, and we needed to find a home for her too. A friend of our family, Tammy, reccomened us to CARE and we have fostered more than 20 since then.
We even have a couple of panther kitties still up for adoption that were rescued almost 2 years ago from the Bojangles' in Pittsboro.
