Your donation helps CARE rescue more animals, expand and promote our spay and neuter program, and educate our community about responsible pet ownership. Here is a snapshot of the difference we've made for the dogs and cats of Chatham County, thanks to donors like you!
Accomplishments
- In 2018, CARE volunteers found homes for more than 120 dogs and cats, most of whom would otherwise have been euthanized without the dedicated help of our donors and volunteers. So far this year, we've homed more than 80 cats and dogs!
- In 2018, CARE spayed or neutered more than 500 dogs and cats. We are on track to exceed that number in 2019!
- Microchipped over 60 pets so far this year through our low-cost microchip clinics, in addition to chipping all foster animals and those in the Lillie's Fund program.
The Costs to Support a Pet
- $50 buys 1 large bag of food for foster pets
- $100 pays for spay or neuter surger for one cat or dog
- $250 pays for heartworm treatment for one dog
- $500 pays for dental work for adult foster animals
- $1000 pays for medical expenses for critically injured cats or dogs
