Frequently Asked Questions
What does Share Your Strides benefit?
Share Your Strides is a month-long, virtual event benefiting the Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking (CCAHT), the only counter-trafficking organization in East Tennessee that unites and equips our community to end human trafficking while providing survivors with comprehensive, trauma-informed aftercare services, including case management, safe shelter, food and clothing, transportation, therapeutic services, community resources, and more.
When does registration open and when does the challenge officially start?
Beginning September 1, you can register for Share Your Strides to set up your profile page, begin raising funds to support the mission and work of CCAHT, and invite others to join your team. The challenge to run/walk 13.1 miles officially begins on October 5, and then you'll have until October 31 to make your miles!
How do I log my miles to earn badges (and bragging rights)?
If you haven't already, download Strava - a fitness tracking app - and create an account. Once you've created your account, join the CCAHT Team. Now you'll be added to the CCAHT Team leaderboards in Strava, which will ensure that your mileage is seen by CCAHT and enable you to unlock mileage-based badges that you rightfully earn throughout the month! You can also add a Strava activity widget straight to your Share Your Strides profile page so your friends can track your progress.
Note that fundraising-based badges can be unlocked beginning on September 1, but mileage-based badges can only be earned during the challenge, between October 5 and October 31.
Why aren't my runs/walks showing up in the Strava CCAHT Team leaderboard?
There could be a few different reasons your runs or walks aren't showing up in the CCAHT Team leaderboard on Strava. Make sure that your activity on Strava is set to public, because if it's set to private, your activity will not show up in the CCAHT Team feed. Also, make sure that even if you plan to walk instead of run, you log your activity as a run in Strava - for some reason, Strava does not yet have the functionality to include walks in club leaderboards, so in order for your activity to be included in the overall runnings, you must log it as a run instead of a walk. For more information on why your activity may not be showing up in the CCAHT Team leaderboard feed, click here.
When/how do I get my Share Your Strides participant t-shirt? When/how do I get the CCAHT swag I ordered from the event store?
If you registered and/or placed a CCAHT swag order before October 1, you can swing by CCAHT headquarters (3821 W. Blount Avenue, Knoxville, 37920) to pick up your "swag bag" (includes race t-shirt and sticker, plus any additional swag purchased during registration) on Friday, October 2 between 8:30am and 6:30pm or on Saturday, October 3 between 9:00am and 11:00am.
If you are unable to come to one of these swag bag pick-up dates, or if you registered and/or ordered CCAHT swag after October 1, please pick up your swag bag during one of the following pick-up days following the challenge: Friday, November 6 between 8:30am and 6:30pm, or Saturday, November 7 between 9:00am and 11:00am.
To maximize your support, we will not be shipping items EXCEPT TO OUT OF TOWN OR OUT OF STATE PARTICIPANTS; to receive your purchases, you must stop by CCAHT headquarters on one of these dates. If you have any questions about your order, please contact Katie Little at katie@ccaht.org.
Please note that if you register after 10/5, certain shirt sizes may no longer be available.
When will prizes be announced?
Prizes will be announced for the top three individuals and top three teams that raised the most funds in support of the CCAHT after the challenge ends on October 31. If there is a tie between two or more individuals or teams, final individual/team mileage will be used as the tiebreaker.
