Cleveland's Central Neighborhood

is home to 3 City Year partner schools:

  • East Tech High School consists of two academies—the Community Wraparound Academy, and the Engineering, Science and Technology Academy—that prepare students for success through a combination of college-prep curriculum and technical education.
  • Built in 2011, George Washington Carver School (PreK-8) focuses on an applied science curriculum known as STEM education. Hands-on science has always been important at the school; the school utilizes touch-screen smart boards, and students use college-level computer-aided-design software. STEM education is meant to prepare students for life beyond the classroom by training them to understand and solve practical problems, thereby improving their competitiveness in the global job market.
  • Alfred A. Benesch School (K-8) focuses on preparing students to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood so they can be successful at achieving their full potential. Caring teachers address the academic and social-emotional needs of each student.
