Soren’s First Birthday — Funding CHD Research in His Honor ❤️

My name is Sophie Weiss, mother of 2 boys. Asa who is level 3 autistic, and Soren who fought a long 9 months before departing to heaven.

September 18th marks Soren’s first birthday.

Soren was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart does not develop properly. He had many other defects too. He had a very sick heart.  Although his life was far too short, his impact will never be.

For his first birthday, I wanted to do something meaningful in his name. I’m raising money for The Children’s Heart Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding research into congenital heart defects.

My hope is that research can give future babies born with hearts like Soren’s more answers, better treatments, and more time. Every donation, no matter the amount, contributes to a future where CHD is better understood and where families are given more hope.

There are no birthday presents to buy for Soren, so this is one way we can celebrate him, say his name, and allow his little heart to continue making an impact.
