Aloha Friends and Future Special Olympics Doners/Plungers!
On Sunday, March 5, 2023 I will be participating in the 2023 Chicago Polar Plunge! This will be my 4th Polar Plunge and one of my now MANY icy jumps into Lake Michigan!
For context regarding why I'm crazy enougy to jump into freezing water, I was lucky enough to see firsthand the smiles only Special Olympics can create for students with disabilities while teaching for three years of my career with CPS at Northside Learning Center. It was truly a highlight of my now 12 years teaching to chaperone/attend past Special Olympic Events. Please consider donating! The events provided by Special Olympics are a truly spectaclar annual highlight for every athlete!
With your support, no matter how big or small, people with intellectual disabilities, young and old, will continue to have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments. For a mere $25, presumably less than your last delivery meal, you can provide one student athlete with their T-shirt and lunch on the day of the games.
For these reasons and many more, I am committed raising $2000.00+ this year before the big plunge on Sunday, March 5th! I know everything costs more these days, so I want to extend my most sincere gratitude for your support from me, the athletes, and of course everyone at Special Olympics Chicago!
