Uganda STM

Dear Friends and Family,

I’m writing to you to share about my upcoming plans to visit Uganda and ask for your support. As you know, when I graduated in 2013, I was blessed with the opportunity to stay in Boston and work as a software engineer. These past few years have been full of blessings, investing my community and discipleship, learning how to walk more deeply with God, and growing in fellowship with my church. God is doing so many amazing things in Boston, and I’m so fortunate to witness His work. While I’ve made things like work or serving with my college fellowship ICF a priority recently, I’m also beginning to sense God turning my attention elsewhere, which is why I’m writing to you now.

This summer, a team of 7 young adults and college students from my church will be traveling to Uganda to partner with ChildVoice International (CVI), which has established a rehabilitation center in Lukodi to minister to women and children who have been affected by war. Being the first trip of this kind for our church, the purpose of this trip is primarily to explore and learn about ways we can establish a long-term relationship with CVI. We’ll be there from July 1st to 17th, working with different parts of the center and spending time with the local church. We’ll also visit a camp for South Sudanese refugees before returning home.

For me personally, this trip is meaningful because it combines a local and global perspective. For many years, I’ve been on the other end of these letters, blessed to provide my support to those who go abroad while personally investing in my local community. I’m excited to see how God will lead and speak to us during our trip, and I’m hopeful that our visit will be a blessing to both those in Uganda and in Boston. Would you consider sharing in this opportunity with me and my teammates through prayer and financial support?

Some things to pray for:

  • Team preparations – working diligently while trusting in the Lord (Psalm 127)
  • Unity – embracing a spirit of humility as Christ demonstrates (Phil 2)
  • Vision – boldly following the Spirit’s lead (Luke 12)
  • Restoration – healing and renewal in Lukodi (Ezekiel 37)
  • Health – trusting in God for protection and care (Psalm 31)
