The Upper Cumberland Foster Closet exists to support children entering foster care and the families who care for them. When a child is placed in a new home, they often arrive with very few personal belongings. The Foster Closet helps meet those immediate needs by providing clothing, shoes, diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and other essentials so foster parents can focus on helping children feel safe and supported. Beyond basic necessities, the Foster Closet also hosts events throughout the year for foster families, including back-to-school support and Christmas celebrations, helping ensure children in care feel valued and included in their community.

Chips for Charity is the Foster Closet’s signature annual fundraiser and our primary way to raise the funds needed to continue serving local foster families. This exciting casino-style event brings the community together for a night of fun and generosity. Guests enjoy professional casino tables, food trucks, drinks, and the opportunity to participate in both a silent and live auction featuring items generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Throughout the evening, guests play games, bid on auction items, and connect with others who care about supporting children in foster care.

Every ticket purchased, auction bid placed, and sponsorship secured helps the Foster Closet continue providing essential items and meaningful support to foster families across the Upper Cumberland.
