Welcome to Meadow's Mighty Hearts. We are so glad you found us.

This team exists because of Meadow. She was born with Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia, a complex congenital heart defect, and she is turning four this August. For CHD families, four is not a given. Every birthday is a big deal in our house, and we intend to keep it that way.

Every 15 minutes in the United States, a baby is born with a congenital heart defect. CHD is the most common birth defect in our country and one of the least funded. Most people have never heard of it until it touches their family. It touched ours.

That is why we walk.

This year, the Congenital Heart Walk means even more as The Children's Heart Foundation celebrates 30 years of funding the research that has transformed survival rates, advanced surgical techniques, and given children like Meadow the chance to thrive. The treatments that gave Meadow her chances did not happen by accident. They happened because researchers kept working and families kept showing up.

Because of advances that have happened just since Meadow was born, what was once a lifetime of open heart surgeries we now hope will only be one more. She has already had two.
