In June of 2022, my father came to us and said he was "losing his words". After one hospital stay, and being diagnosed with a stroke, we thought we reached the end of that hurtle as a family and we're on the road to recovery. When we saw things weren't getting better, we knew something was wrong. 6 weeks, SO many tests, waiting, what if's, and fear, CJD took my dad away from me. It took the smartest, kindest, most loving hard working man away. A husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a son, a friend. The best man in the entire world. My family and I are devastated and heart broken, and it is my life's mission to fundraise for families experiencing this. For the victims of this miserable disease. To show no one is alone in what they are feeling. In honor of my dad.
