Dr. Sherry Beth Zox, MD, of Upper Arlington, OH, passed peacefully on March 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, a month shy of her 75th birthday. She was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob diease in February 2025.

A native of Bexley, OH, Dr. Zox was a graduate of the Columbus School for Girls, received a BS in Biology from the Newcomb College at Tulane University, and a Doctorate in Medicine from The Ohio State University. Dr. Zox was the fourth of five beloved children of Dr. Maurice Zox, MD, and Mrs. Florence Zox. After an internship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, Dr. Zox practiced radiology in the Columbus, OH, region for nearly 45 years, most recently as a staff radiologist at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, OH. She was an expert clinician, offering her special brand of astute diagnostic capability and genuine warmth and care to her patients.

While completing her residency in Columbus, OH, Dr. Zox met and married her soulmate, Dr. Arnold H. Deutchman, PhD. The Drs. Zox-Deutchman built a loving and supportive home with their two devoted daughters, Hallee and Emilee.

Dr. Zox was a member of Congregation Beth Tikvah and spent her life supporting Jewish causes. She dedicated her life to her family, her friends, and her patients; she was always on hand for anyone who needed her, offering both invaluable medical and life advice to so many. Dr. Zox never knew a stranger and touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the glue that held her family and her friends together.

Dr. Zox is survived by her devoted husband of nearly-45 years, Dr. Arnold Deutchman; her treasured daughters Dr. Hallee Pivar, PhD of Glencoe, IL, and Mrs. Emilee Deutchman-Blaschke, of Jacksonville, FL; her cherished sons-in-law, Mr. Brian Pivar and Captain Brian Blaschke, USN; and her beloved grandson, Maximilian Pivar, as well a granddaughter on the way.
