Fundraising for the CJD Foundation

St. Bonaventure Women's Lacrosse in Memory of Michael Losquadro

2025 Annual Fundraiser in Memory of Michael Losquadro

In the Spring of 2019, Jess Losquadro (Bonnies WLax ‘21), lost her father to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). Since then, our program has run an annual fundraiser in honor of Michael Losquadro. He was an avid supporter of the Bonnies and loved by many. Our team stood behind the Losquadro family during that tragic time and we strive to continue supporting them and the whole CJD community. The Honorary CJD Game will take place Saturday, April 19th, 2025 against the University of Massachusetts @ the Marra Athletic Complex.

This foundation is a non-profit that raises awareness and uses the donations to further their research to help find a cure or treatment for CJD. CJD is a fatal, neurological disease affecting one person in every million people per year -- which is around 500 US cases a year. Most cases of CJD are sporadic, meaning the cause is unknown. CJD can occur in other forms such as acquired (contamination through brain surgery/etc. or consumption of contaminated beef, blood, or plasma transfusion) or genetic. As of today, there is no known cure or treatment for those with CJD.
