Many people will remember Fred from his 21 years living with John and I in Fort Ann, NY. He was a man who never met a stranger. He absolutely loved shopping, and if he didn't know anyone when he arrived, he would have made at least one friend before we left.
Fred attended Liberty House Foundation in Glens Falls for at least 25 years where he developed many friendships through the years. He worked 15 years pushing carts at Broad Street Hannaford. You may remember him as the man with a smile on his face and a friendly word. That position was phased out when Fred coincidentally turned 65 at which time Fred retired. Fred was never a fan of retirement, so got a job pushing carts at the large Walmart in Queensbury until Covid hit. He later got a job at Kentucky Fried Chicken until the fateful night that changed the trajectory of his life forever when the symptoms of CJD began.
Fred always was proud of his jobs, often telling me "I get the job done!" He also loved dancing, time with his many friends, listening to music, bowling, his many vacations, and Rachel most of all.
Fred was a strong fund raiser, especially for Big Brothers and Bowl for Kids Sake, always wanting to help anyone less fortunate than himself. He would be proud to help raise awareness of this devastating disease and to do whatever he could to help develop treatments and ultimate cure for CJD
