In Loving Memory of Matthew Pontius

Fundraising for CJD Research

so one day we can better fight back.

Matthew Pontius, the human exclamation point.

Matt Pontius was best described by his wife Lisa as "A human exclamation point, he made every moment fun". Truer words have never been spoken about Matt. He was loud, boisterous, funny, kind, welcoming, warm, and endlessly energetic which is why his loss to Sporadic CJD has left such a lasting impact on everyone who knew him and loved him.

Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease may be rare, but it is swift and devastating, and it is our hope as those who love Matthew Pontius that one day enough research is done into this disease that it no longer has to be a death sentence to those that are unlucky enough to come into contact with it.

It is our hope to honor Matt's memory by raising funds for that very research effort because nobody should lose their Matt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pontius Family Fund or on this page for the CJD Foundation. Matt's warmth, laughter, and light will be carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
