Our family is honoring the life of Anna Marie Dickinson, who passed away on November 15, 2025, after a brief and rapidly progressing illness caused by prion disease—an extremely rare neurological condition with no cure. Anna had recently returned from a joyful trip to Japan when her symptoms suddenly increased, and despite the short timeline, her warmth, humor, and steady love never faded.
Anna believed deeply in learning, discovery, and helping others. In her final wishes, she chose to donate her brain to the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center so researchers could better understand this devastating illness. She hoped that her experience—though rare and rapid—could contribute to scientific knowledge and ultimately help future families facing similar uncertainty.
Because of Anna’s commitment to helping others, our family is asking for contributions to the CJD Foundation, an organization dedicated to prion disease research, family advocacy, and support services. Your donation will help fund the research that Anna cared about and move us closer to answers, treatments, and hope for families who may face this disease in the future.
If you feel moved to give, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support honors Anna’s legacy of generosity, curiosity, and love—and helps carry her spirit forward in a way she would be proud of.
Thank you for supporting prion disease research in Anna’s memory.
