Rodney Lee Goetz, age 72, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in his home.
Rodney was a graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelor in Music Education and of Penn Technical University with an Associate in Specialized Technology. He served from 1978 - 1982 in the United States Air Force as an Instrumental Specialist (Trumpet) for both the North American Air Defense Command Band, and the United States Air Force Academy Falconaires Jazz Ensemble in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired in 2016 after 30 years of Combined Federal Service from the Department of Defense where he specialized in IT/Telecommunications and Wide Area Networks (WAN) Integration Fields.
Rodney spent countless hours fishing on the Chesapeake Bay with his sons, grandsons, and friends. He could fix almost anything, and was always happy to teach his talents to others - from recreational shooting, fishing, to rebuilding a lawnmower, or anything in between. Rodney enjoyed spending time with his family and friends walking, biking, and cruising in the golf cart (always with the family dog, Jersey) - at the beach and around the neighborhood. A jokester, Rodney’s sense of humor will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and colleagues.
