The Challenge

We’re challenging you to get outside and connect with your community. Explore local neighbourhoods while fundraising for them! Start a walking group or head out to your favourite local trail with co-workers, neighbours, family and friends. Your challenge. Your way.  

Last year over 42,000 people in 40 neighbourhoods across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley were supported thanks to the generosity of United Way donors like you. With your help, we can support even more people in need this year.  

That’s why we’re asking you to step UP your step count this year by exceeding 42,000 steps over 10 days – that’s a minimum of 4,200 steps a day – to show your local love for your community.   

The Challenge runs from September 23 – October 2. Register your team today and get a head start on fundraising. We’ll provide you with tips and inspiration to help motivate and support you along the way!!

 

Track your steps with the MoveSpring App.

Step your way to the top of the ClimbUP Leaderboard, and great prizes, by signing UP for the MoveSpring App. It’s easy. Here’s how:

  • Download the MoveSpring App
  • Join the ClimbUP Challenge 
  • Connect your fitness device or phone to MoveSpring as directed

You’re then ready to track your progress during our 10-Day Challenge and see how each step you take will make a positive impact in your community.

Join the Neptune North Shore Challenge.

If your business operates out of the North Shore, Neptune Terminals has a challenge for you! Raise the most funds as a team or walk the most steps collectively to win a $350 gift card to Fishworks Restaurant or to Bravo Cucina Restaurant in North Vancouver AND bragging rights as North Shore Challenge Champions. Select the ‘Neptune North Shore Challenge’ when registering to sign up and you’ll be eligible for all that ClimbUP has to offer. 

To be eligible for prizing and bragging rights:   

  • Your business must be legally registered as operating out of the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, West Vancouver, the Squamish Nation or the Tsleil -Waututh Nation. 
  • You and your participating Teammates must select the ‘Neptune North Shore Challenge – Team Participant’ option under Step 2 of the ClimbUP team registration process on the Qgive site. Doing so will automatically register you for ClimbUP and the fundraising portion of the Neptune North Shore Challenge.  
  • You and your participating Teammates must indicate you are registering for the ‘Neptune North Shore Challenge’ when signing up on the MoveSpring app (details to come) in order to be eligible for the step portion of the Neptune North Shore Challenge. 
  • Team participants must be registered on this site and the MoveSpring app before 5pm October 2, 2021 

Bragging rights and prizes are UP for grabs!

ClimbUP Champions will walk away with more than just bragging rights this year. We’ve got great prizes for participants that make it to the top of the Leaderboard thanks to our amazing sponsor McMillan:

  • The team that raises the most funds collectively will receive a team prize pack 
  • The individual that achieves the most steps during the 10-Day Challenge will receive an Apple Watch Series 6 and a McMillan Hydration Pack

To be eligible for prizing and bragging rights:   

  • All team members must be registered for their ClimbUP team on the Qgive site no later than 5pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021.   
  • All team fundraising must be posted to the ClimbUP Qgive site no later than 5pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021.  The team with the most funds raised by this time will be declared the prize winner.
  • Individuals must be signed up for ClimbUP on the MoveSpring app in order to be eligible for individual prizing.
  • Steps tracked starting 12:00am September 23, 2021 through 5pm October 2, 2021 will be eligible for prizing. The individual with the most steps tracked during this time will be declared the prize winner.    

 

Fundraising Minimum

Donations fuel your challenge! 

Participants must raise a minimum $100 each so reach out to your co-workers, family and friends for support. We’ll make it simple to reach your fundraising goals by providing you with the tools and resources you need.
