In 2008 when I was almost 8 months pregnant it was discovered that I had developed a massive DVT in my Illiac Vein. This blood clot, we were told, had the potential to take my life and the life of our unborn child. This was a day I will never forget and a day that forever changed my life. Because of the size and the damage that it did to my body this is something that I think about everyday and something that I will manage forever. Had I known the signs of a blood clot in 2008 the possibilities are endless. At the very least I could have prevented the DVT from getting to the size that it did. In addition to my personal experience I have had numerous friends and family members affected by blood clots, some heartbreakingly losing their lives. It is because of these reasons that I am so passionate about blood clot awareness and prevention. I would appreciate any donation you have to give to the cause.
