Ruth and I are going to climb a mountain to raise money for the Colorado Mountain Club. I have elected to do a 10K hike for the challenge this year. I am considering a few different hikes to fulfill this requirement but I am open to suggestions!
Ruthie and I love the mountains. We are passionate about spreading our love for enjoying the Colorado outdoors in a responsible and fun way. Ruthie is my 9 month old Golden Aussiedoodle and she LOVES hiking. This will be much less of a challenge for her than it is for me.
After spending so much time in the hospital (25+ days) during my first year in Colorado, I vowed to get out and be healthier. I started hiking as a therapy and I used it as an escape from the PTSD of constant health relapses. Fast forward almost two years since my last surgery and I have hiked over 1000 miles through the Colorado wilderness during that time.
My goal is to raise money to continue to care for the land and to spread knowledge about how to enjoy these lands responsibly. Getting out into the natural world is more important than ever during these crazy times, and we live in the best place to do it.
