Hi friends! By now you know we've committed ourselves to the cause of anti-trafficking. We are so grateful to introduce you to the work of JOY International, led by Jeff Brodsky. They're based in Conifer, CO and Jeff is one of those guys who literally goes in and pulls kids out of trafficking situations. The heart God has given him for "the least of these" (the forgotten and abused) is profound and inspires us so much. 

We would LOVE (!!!) to have you walk The Barefoot Mile with us! It's a powerful time of solidarity with kids in other countries who live barefoot in slums, garbage heaps, and brothels. If you can't join us in person, you can join as a virtual walker (you can even try going barefoot for a day and tell the story of these kids as questions are raised) or donate.

The big goal is 500 people at this event, and I'd be thrilled to join in with a team of 10 (2%). It's going to be a great day!! 

A word on donating: Sometimes it feels like a cop-out to just throw money at something, or you feel like you want to do "more" instead. I get it. But I've met Jeff, I've read his book, and let me tell you -- when there's an organization and people who are trained and have said "YES" to being sent, helping to cover their financials is a huge gift. And I know JOY uses them wisely. One of my favorite things about them is that they're able to track people (often a relative) who are trying to sell a little girl for the first time and intercept the exchange so that that child has no idea what she was just rescued from and she is spared the trauma of years in the brothels. And the only thing standing them and rescuing more kids is money. It's so cool to be a part of that and invite you to do the same.
