Hi family & friends! I first want to thank you for taking the time to read this, as this is an extremely important organization to me. 

As most of you may know, I am a Middle Level Education major, and love volunteering with organizations within the education realm or that have benefits for children in my community. I found College Mentors on my campus through on of my professors within the education department. I became a mentor to a 5th grader named Navyiah. She is such a joy, a light in my world, and is someone who I can learn a lot from. She attends a school in my community that wanted their students to have a supportive, caring, and wise mentor to help students through their education career, and I am so lucky to have gained this opportunity and expereience. 

As of this Spring semester, I decided to not only be a mentor to Navyiah on Wednesdays, but to also become a General Manager of a 3rd grade family and their mentors on Mondays, so I get to hang out twice a week with these kiddos! Through College Mentors, I have gained leadership skills, communication skills, experience with children, and have gained so many new friends and insights on the kids in this program and their lives.
