Did you know that mentoring transforms lives? Research shows that kids with mentors view themselves and their futures more positively than those without mentors. They view themselves in a more confident light and they also achieve more in school, the workplace, and their communities. Growing up is challenging for everyone, but, with a mentor, it’s a little easier. That's exactly why I love mentoring.

Through College Mentors for Kids i am connected with a local elementary school student who I get to do weekly on-campus activities with to help inspire growth, confidence, and brighter futures.

I love volunteering with my little buddy each week because I get to connect with them and spend time with them, all while participating in fun activities together with other mentors and buddies. I love to learning all about my buddy and get to know all about her ideas and plans and passions. At the sametime, our activities teach us both about careers, culture and diversity, and community service. Not only do we like exploring our world together, but my little buddy helps me grow as a person too. This program helps me to give back to my community, and learn about leadership and relationships at the same time. 

Part of what makes our program possible, is that little buddies get to partipate completely free of charge, because we want to eliminate as many barriers to entry as possible so as many little buddies as possible can join our program! This means every mentor works to fundraise and cover the cost of their little buddy. My findraising goal will allow me to provide an entire year of free transportations and activities to my little buddy, and every little bit helps! Your contribution will allow us to continue this program on our campus so that we can spread the powering of mentoring, and expand to more schools in columbus, and across America
