Growing up, I learned how important it is to have people who believe in you, encourage you, and help you see what you’re capable of achieving. Now, as a student at The Ohio State University, I have the opportunity to be that person for someone else through College Mentors for Kids!

College Mentors for Kids connects college students with elementary school children through weekly on-campus activities that encourage learning, build confidence, and introduce kids to new experiences and opportunities. I love being part of a program that helps children explore their interests, learn about different careers and cultures, and see possibilities for their futures.

As a mentor, I get to spend time with my little buddy each week, participate in fun activities, and learn alongside them. What makes this experience special is knowing that even small moments of encouragement can make a difference in a child's life. I hope to help my buddy feel supported, confident, and excited about their future, just as the people who have encouraged me have helped shape mine.

As a nursing student, I care deeply about helping others and making a positive impact in my community. I believe that supporting children early in life can help them build the confidence and skills they need to succeed. College Mentors gives me another opportunity to put that belief into action while growing as a leader myself.
