Truth or Dare?

Dare: I dare you to ask someone what kept their dream alive when the pressure to succeed nearly crushed it. Chances are, they’ll name a mentor.

Truth: I was fortunate to have mentors in my adolescence that valued me, believed in me, and encouraged me to chase my dreams, no matter how impossible they seemed. It's those people in my corner that made me the person that I am today and it's those same people that will keep my boat rowing as I chase success tomorrow.

College Mentors for Kids is a 501(c) non-profit that connects children from Title I elementary schools with college students through weekly on-campus activities. Together, we explore careers, learn about culture and diversity, and discover ways to give back to our communities. Through those shared experiences, we build trust, nurture confidence, and give kids space to be curious about who they might become.

This year, I am serving as chapter president, and my goal is to help establish our chapter culture as one that little buddies can see themselves a part of. A community, a home away from home, where they know someone is excited to see them, interested in their ideas, and ready to cheer them on, right here at the heart of Carolina.

I humbly ask you to consider making a gift toward my fundraising goal. Your generosity directly supports transportation to and from their elementary school, room reservations at the Carolina Student Union, and supplies for the activities. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue creating meaningful experiences for our Little Buddies without placing any financial burden on them or their families.
