Why I Serve

I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Outward Bound School, an organization that is dear to me because back before I returned to the practice of law I was an assistant instructor for COBS and saw first-hand how impactful COBS programing is on improving the confidence, resilience and self-esteem of our students, and I want to go the extra mile for the organization.  Just this past weekend I went on a COBS course with some of my fellow Board members and was reminded just how special and important the work we do is.  COBS really does change lives through challenge and discovery in the outdoors.

For the past 61 years, COBS has blazed the trail in outdoor education by teaching students lifelong skills.  Not just technical wilderness skills, but also leadership skills, confidence and reflection to rise above daily challenges, and above all else, compassion. On a COBS course, our students are able to build resilience, connect with peers, and boost social, emotional, and mental wellbeing, all while being in nature.

These programs are more critical to today's youth than they've ever been. Will you help me support the Colorado Outward Bound School?
