Hi, I’m Jack Kennon, an SDSU student raising money for Crisis House.
When you picture someone experiencing homelessness, who do you see?
Now picture a mother leaving an abusive home with her children. She had a job, a home, and plans for the future. She never imagined she’d need to ask for help.
For more than 50 years, Crisis House has been there for families like hers in San Diego. They provide safe housing for women and children escaping domestic violence, healing and mentorship for kids through their Camp HOPE program, and mobile outreach for people experiencing homelessness. When children get support early, they have a much better chance to heal and thrive.
Why your donation matters
Much of Crisis House’s funding comes with restrictions on who and what it can support. Gifts from people like you help them respond quickly when someone falls through the cracks, with emergency housing, transportation, or food for families in need.
What your gift could help provide
- $20: A week of transportation to work, appointments, or essential services
- $25: Hygiene essentials that restore comfort and dignity
- $35: Groceries and meals for a person or family
- $45: Clothing for school, work, or a job interview
- $50: ID documents or application fees needed to apply for housing and jobs
Even $20, about what a couple of coffee runs cost, can change what tomorrow looks like for someone.
