In 2021, on the day before his 5th birthday, we heard a vomiting noise very early in the morning and went to check on Oliver. We found Oliver unresponsive. He had his first seizure. Oliver was found to have abnormal brain activity in his frontal lobe, however at this time we do not know the exact cause of his seizures. After his next long lasting seizure, he was put on medication. He is lucky that his seizures are able to be controlled by his medication because one-third of people with epilepsy will not gain full seizure control with current available treatments. Ollie has proven to be a strong and resilient kid. We are hoping to meet a new milestone in September of 2 years seizure free. Ollie’s Crew is walking to raise awareness and to support the epilepsy community.
