Jump in your car and head to Nemours on Sept 26th to join our parade around the campus.  Take a moment to honk your horns for the children in the hospital and smile to all the superheroes that will be lining the route.  The event will have a different look and feel, but the result will be the same.  We will join together to raise funds for research and patient services at Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (NCCBD).

We are excited to give our families something to look forward to in a time where we need it the most. All of our lives have been impacted with social distancing, whether it’s working from home, homeschooling our children or celebrating holidays without all of our loved ones.  We want to ensure the health and safety of all of you, and in doing so we will be converting the Young Heroes 5K Walk/Run and Kiddie K to a the Young Heroes Car Parade!

The Young Heroes Car Parade will raise funds for research and patient services at NCCBD at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.  The NCCBD offers patient- and family-centered pediatric oncology and hematology care that includes the full range of clinical and support services alongside internationally recognized research programs.

All cars are welcome to join us on the Nemours campus!  You can join us an individual or participate in a team!   All participants who register by September 1st will include a special t-shirt and we will have fundraising incentives along the way!

Be sure to decorate your hero themed car and #honkforyourhero.

To register as an individual or team, please click on "Join Our Team!" and walk through the registration steps.  There will be sample text on your webpage but we encourage you to make your page personable and tell the "why" you decided to fundraise for childhood cancer.

Please join us as we fundraise for our heroes! Visit the Event DetailsTab for more details on the car parade details and instructions.

Become a Volunteer!

We will need volunteers to help with various jobs including set-up crew, registration, greeters, cheer squad members and clean-up crew. All volutneers will be required to wear masks and to be spaced at least 6 feet apart at all times.  We encourage volunteers to wear superhero gear and join in the fun.  Please sign up to become a volunteer by visiting our volunteer registration page.

Be the Match - Join the Registry

Another way to help kids at the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders is to join the Be The Match registry. Joining the Be The Match Registry® means volunteering to be listed as a potential blood stem cell donor, ready to save the life of any patient in need of a transplant.  Paperwork and a cheek swab is all it takes to be someone’s cure. Join Be The Match online at http://join.bethematch.org/HonkForHeroes.
