Over the last 15 years, Dance Arts Centre has teamed up with True Friends, to host our annual Dance with Courage Dance Marathon event, raising $300,000!
Dance Arts Centre remains focused on teaching our dancers the important values of working together, leading by example, maintaining deep values of social responsibility and giving back to our community, which make our partnership with True Friends a perfect match!
True Friends is a nonprofit organization that provides life-changing experiences for children and adults with disabilities. True Friends’ programs include camp, respite, horse therapy, retreats, travel, and team building. True Friends camps help children and adults with disabilities build their confidence, increase their independence, and make lasting friendships, all while having a blast water tubing, horseback riding, and zip-lining.
While this year may look different, our goal remains the same! We are committed to bringing our DAC community together to support True Friends and their mission of providing life-changing experiences for children and adults with disabilities that enhance their independence and self-esteem.
This year, our efforts to raise money for this nonprofit is needed more than ever. In 2020 True Friends temporarily suspended all programs and services and furloughed a large portion of their staff. Currently, True Friends is serving limited individuals in Respite and Horse Therapy, as well as offering family cabin rentals and registering individuals for Weekend Respite and Summer Camp in 2021. Your financial support helps True Friends prepare to relaunch their programs and services and welcome back their participants as restrictions are lifted and as they are able to safely do so.”
Although our dancer’s won’t be dancing at the mall, we will still move forward with our online fundraising and fun challenges for top fundraising teams and individuals.
