My name is Lewis Henry, and I’m proud to serve as the Treasurer of the board for Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary. Becoming involved with this incredible organization has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. Blossom’s is a sanctuary for orphaned and rescued orangutans, and their work to protect and care for these endangered animals truly resonates with me. I’ve always felt a deep connection to nature and a responsibility to preserve it for future generations, and being part of Blossom’s allows me to contribute to a cause that I’m passionate about every day.

When I first learned about the sanctuary’s mission, I was moved by the challenges these animals face, from the destruction of their rainforest habitats to the illegal wildlife trade. I knew I had to do something to help. As Treasurer, I ensure that the sanctuary’s financial resources are managed wisely and effectively so we can continue providing the care and rehabilitation that the orangutans need. It’s a big responsibility, but one I’m honored to take on because every financial decision contributes to the wellbeing of these incredible animals.

This year, I’m stepping even further out of my comfort zone by participating in our upcoming “Dancing with the Board” fundraiser. That’s right—I’m trading spreadsheets for dance steps! While I wouldn't call myself a natural on the dance floor, I’m excited to take on this challenge to raise funds and awareness for the sanctuary. Events like this not only make a tangible impact but also give us the platform to share Blossom’s mission with more people, showing how they can play a role in supporting wildlife conservation.

Being part of Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary has deepened my appreciation for the natural world and the incredible creatures we share it with. Participating in this fundraiser is my way of combining personal growth (and maybe a little humor!) with a serious commitment to protecting the orangutans who rely on us.
