Dear friends & family:

I am doing a fundraiser by partnering with the non-profit charitable organization named RIP Medical Debt to help abolish a portion of the medical debt available in Cape Coral/Ft. Meyers, Florida; $5 million, and Kankakee/Bradley-Bourbonnais, Illinois; $.25 million. My goal is to raise $15,000 in donations, erasing $1.5 million in medical debt for the two communities. My Dad was from the Kankakee area. He passed away in 2015. I am doing this fund raiser in his honor. I am from the Cape Coral area. All donations will go to Veterens nationwide if I don't make my goal but will still get the 1 to 100 ratio debt forgiveness payout.

The first picture is of me when I was a young boy. I knew that one penny was worth quite a lot less than one dollar. Now that I am a grown man in the other picture, I know that the ratio is 1 to 100 so I can donate just $1,000 and have $100,000 in medical debt be forgiven for individual(s) and their family who really need to have their "medical debt slate" wiped clean, which helps them to restart their finances. These people must be below twice the national poverty level to even qualify for this debt relief.

Please consider donating even a small amount of $10, $20, $50 or $100. Wouldn't it be a wonderful gift for a needy person for this Thanksgiving and/or Christmas! Just add two zeros to the amount that you donate which is the amount of debt forgiveness that the recipient needy person will get through the RIP Medical Dept Forgiveness Program.

Come on friends, family, and associates!....Let's at least meet my goal which will forgive $1,500,000 in medical debt for the local communities! Just click the donate button!

RIP Medical Debt’s Solution: RIP Medical Debt uses donations to purchase bundled medical debt portfolios that have gone through collection agencies for months or years. Using third-party credit data providers, it targets debt incurred by people facing financial hardship, and then forgives it. On average, $1 is leveraged to abolish $100 in medical debt.

Please see the full RIP FAQ below and visit www.ripmedicaldebt.org for more information.

* In the case the campaign falls short of the $15,000 goal to abolish $1.5M of medical debt in Kankaee County, Illinois & Lee County, Florida, the funds will be re-allocated to the national military veterans medical debt relief fund.

Who is RIP Medical Debt? RIP Medical Debt (RIP) is a national 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to empower donors to forgive the billions of dollars in oppressive medical debt at pennies on the dollar. RIP locates, buys, and abolishes destructive medical debt for individuals, veterans, and families. Since inception in 2014, RIP has relieved more than $600 million in medical debt for individuals across the U.S., impacting over 250,000 individuals.

How Does RIP Medical Debt Work? RIP, working with third-party credit data providers, searches through large debt portfolios to locate accounts meeting their criteria for relief. RIP then negotiates to buy millions of dollars of this debt at a steep discount, usually a penny or less on the dollar.

Facts about Medical Debt

  • 42.9 million Americans have unpaid medical bills, which creates an adverse impact on debtor patients, physicians, and hospitals (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau)

  • Individuals who make less than 2 times the federal poverty level
  • Individuals with financial hardship - 5% or more of their annual income goes to out-of-pocket medical expenses
