Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page. This year, as The Children’s Heart Foundation celebrates 30 years of funding lifesaving research, I am walking with an even deeper sense of purpose—for my son, Wilder, and for every child born with congenital heart disease.

Wilder was born with a severe congenital heart defect that we were completely unprepared for. What followed was a four-month hospital stay, open-heart surgery, cardiac arrest, a tracheostomy, endless needles, procedures, and invasions of his innocence that no child should ever have to endure. Our family lived through a nightmare that should not exist—and yet countless heart families are still living it. CHD is the most common birth defect in the United States, but research remains critically underfunded. These children deserve better treatments, safer surgeries, fewer complications, and the chance to grow up and celebrate every birthday ahead of them.
