To many, it’s just a walk. To us, it’s every hospital stay, every surgery, every sleepless night, every prayer, every tear, and every milestone we weren’t sure we’d get to celebrate.
Kailo was born with a congenital heart defect. Since then, he’s endured two open-heart surgeries before his third birthday. He’s shown a strength and resilience that most adults will never have to find.
We walk to celebrate how far he’s come.
We walk to remember the hard days that brought us here.
We walk for the children still waiting for surgery, the families sitting beside hospital beds, and the parents who understand what it’s like to put their child’s life in someone else’s hands.
Congenital heart defects affect 1 in every 100 babies born, yet many people don’t know how common they are or the lifelong impact they can have.
By walking, we’re helping raise awareness, supporting research, and showing families affected by CHD that they are never alone.
