It’s Time to Pull Out Your Cape & Tights and Wipeout Poverty!
Every month, hundreds of families find their way to our basement in search of much needed groceries, clothing and help covering overdue rent and utilities. This is evidence that the need for DESC’s services continues to grow as families struggle with chronic poverty.
With the effects of COVID-19, these stories are becoming more common. Since reopening in May, more than 35 percent of our families are first-time visitors.
Thankfully, our superheroes continue to champion the cause to meet these needs. Captain Underwear, Commander Current, Princess Pantaloons and Queen Appétit proudly carry the banner for those in need. Together, they represent all our services and form an unbeatable team.
