Pine Meadows and its adjacent neighborhoods are AWESOME examples of people who help others and care about the health of their community.
Because of this neighborly love, my husband and I have created a fundraising team for Dining Out For Life Bluegrass, AVOL Kentucky’s annual dining event. Our team name is Pine Meadows United. Dining Out For Life Bluegrass is setting the table for September 10, 2020. Their generous restaurant partners will share a portion of sales with AVOL Kentucky to support Ending HIV in Kentucky!
Remarkably similar to the love shown in our neighborhoods, AVOL Kentucky began when a small group of people shared with each other their determination to help their friends who were sick, together they pledged to do whatever they could to provide companionship and assistance.
AVOL Kentucky has now been on the front lines of the HIV/AIDS epidemic for more than 30 years, offering programs that include housing, financial assistance, case management, and supportive services to persons who are medically vulnerable and their families in Central and Eastern Kentucky depending on program eligibility. They also offer various health screenings including HIV, Hepatitis C, and other STI.
In prior years, the Dining Out For Life Bluegrass event has raised as much as $120,000 dollars. This year, however, is much different and the impact of our current public health crisis is hitting the restaurant industry hard. It will be extremely difficult for AVOL Kentucky to raise that amount of money this year without your help.
