The Diwali Food Drive started in 2011. It was a small local drive in Chester County. By 2015, the families in my neighborhood got involved. We started collecting donations in the schools, at work, and the drive has grown a lot every year since. The children were a big part of the drive as the schools were a big proponent. Now, many of us have moved out, and I personally have been out of the service for years. I want to start a initiative at Pitt, labelling it the same "Diwali Food Drive."
This food drive is running through October 31st.
In order to continue to support our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity during these difficult times, we are hosting an online fundraiser for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank! For every $5 donated, the Food Bank can provide up to 15 meals for the children, families and seniors they serve across Southwestern PA. Thank you for your continued support!
