Nick was affectionately known as “The Dog Whisperer”, as every dog who knew him became a follower. Mina (German shepherd) and Lulu (yellow lab) claimed Nick as their favorite owner - they are now rejoicing together.  Amy and their sons, Parker and Griffin, suggested donations to Canine Companions in Nick's honor because he loved their mission of providing FREE high-trained service dogs to our individuals with disabilities and veterans with PTSD.  Amy's college roommate, Staicey Scholtz, has been a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions since 2009 so Nick and Amy have met many of her Canine Companions future service dogs over the years. All donations received here, on Nick's memorial page, will benefit the Northern Ohio Volunteer Chapter's DogFest efforts.  If $15,000 or more is raised, Amy and the boys will be able to name a future service dog in Nick's honor.   Thank you for suporting a great need ,and remembering a great human, all at the same time.  We will miss you, Nick.
