Honoring Alissa M Trucco
We are participating in DogFest because we love dogs, and we believe in Canine Companions and their mission to provide expertly trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge. One service dog is estimated at $50,000.00, so fundraising is critical to making this happen.
Our family became involved in CC in 2017 as a way to honor the life of our beloved Alissa Trucco. Seeing the impact this organization makes on the lives of others has provided us a light in an otherwise dark time, and for that we are forever grateful.
Over the years, Libby (Alissa's stepmom) has raised current service dog Libby VI and change of career Behati. Yes, the first puppy she raised shared her same name, and no, we did not name that one. We joke that Alissa had a hand in that one.
Jackie, Alissa's sister, has raised current service dogs Peg III, Amity III, Dino IV, and is currently raising puppy Yutani.
Alissa's second cousin Ashley Ballard also recently became involved in the organization and is raising her first puppy, Sly, who turns in to professional training this May.
The impact these dogs make on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible, and we are honored to be a small part of that.
Leading up to DogFest, we are raising money to support Canine Companions. Help us get to our fundraising goal by donating online so we can get more of these amazing Canine Companions assistance dogs into the lives of those who need them.
Change of career Alissa, the first canine companion puppy named by the Trucco family.
