We're proud to announce the launch of The Street Dog Coalition's newest chapter right here in Atlanta, led by local veterinarian Dr. Mary Ashley Jantzen. The Street Dog Coalition is a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide free veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Through pop-up street clinics held at shelters, encampments, day centers, and community events, the Atlanta team will offer free preventative care to pets whose families might otherwise have nowhere to turn. By caring for "both ends of the leash," the Coalition recognizes that a pet's health and a person's wellbeing are deeply connected, and that keeping families and their animals together is often just as important as the medicine itself.

Dr. Mary Ashley Jantzen, an Atlanta native whose lifelong love of animals has always been matched by an innate desire to make the world a little brighter and better, is leading this new chapter. She hopes to bring accessible, judgment-free veterinary care for pets belonging to the city's most vulnerable residents and she's bringing together fellow veterinarians, vet techs, and volunteers to make that vision a reality.
