Janigner - I am running the NYC Marathon on November 1, and once again, I’d like to donate my Marathon Sunday to an organization near and dear to my heart, Fund for Armenian Relief.
FAR provides essential, highly tangible, on-the-ground support to Armenians across education, public health, children’s rights, disability rights, women’s rights, economic development, and many other areas integral to Armenia’s future. Some of our projects have provided children with autism, displaced refugees, single mothers, and many other vulnerable constituencies with healthcare, education, and economic mobility to live a life of purpose and dignity.
Today, we are fundraising for Jajur, a village in the Shirak region, to equip their medical clinic with modern medical equipment and essential supplies, improving access to quality healthcare for the local community. Shirak is one of Armenia's poorest regions, where many rural medical clinics lack the modern equipment and supplies needed to provide quality care. As a result, residents often have to travel long distances to larger towns and cities to receive even basic medical services. By strengthening the clinic's capacity, rural residents will have greater access to timely medical care without the burden of traveling - an especially important benefit during the harsh winter months, when roads can become dangerous or impassable. Improved access to quality healthcare will support earlier diagnosis of illness, better management of chronic conditions, increased preventive care, and healthier outcomes for the entire community.
