Frequently Asked Questions

Participating in the Down Syndrome Walk is easy! But if you have questions, you can find answers below.

I am busy on June 15th, can I still participate?

Of course! The great thing about this event is you can choose how you want to participate. Get started by signing up and telling your friends, family, and co-workers that you are raising money for the Canadian Down Syndrome Society. You can host your own event that works with your schedule, or you can make a donation to help another team meet their fundraising goal, another amazing way to support life-changing projects if you cannot participate.

Can I register without a team?

We encourage you to join us as an individual or part of a team. Everyone is welcome!

Is this a live or virtual event?

The Down Syndrome Walk is made of many physical events happening across Canada in local communities hosted by the Down Syndrome Walk Ambassadors and Teams. Friends, schools, families, companies, and individuals are encouraged to organize local events supporting the walk! Please contact PamelaM@cdss.ca to learn more about how we can help support your event.

How far do I have to walk?

We encourage you to participate any way you can, there is no distance requirement. You can walk 5km, host a yoga class in the park, organize a community picnic, play a family baseball game, or go biking with friends on your favourite trail - the possibilities are endless! We can't wait to see all of your events this year.

Is there a fee to participate?

There is no cost to participate in the Down Syndrome Walk, but we do encourage you to ask your network to help you raise critical funds for CDSS 2024 projects. This walk is our only community fundraiser, so the more people involved, the larger the impact we can make with our programs!
