Delaney’s Dreams    The first few weeks of Delaney’s life seem just like a dream to me.   Some parts of those first few weeks are a blur.  Some are crystal clear.   Now we are asking for your donation to help Delaney and  other children with Down Syndrome in the community, fulfil their own dreams.

Delaney was born the day after Christmas.   The weeks leading up to her birth, some ultrasounds had shown things were a little off.   We saw a specialist on the 26th.  She thought my umbilical cord was failing.  Even though it was 3.5 weeks before Delaney’s Due date, she told us to get in the car, and drive to Theda Clark.  It was time to have a baby. 

Our beautiful baby girl was born a few hours later.  Shortly after they told us they believed she had Down Syndrome.   We were flooded with information on our new journey.   Some of the information we were given lead us to the local DSAW group.   Many of the Moms friended me on Facebook.  One Mom with an elementary aged daughter with Down Syndrome, came over with supper, as well as a t-shirt from a priors year walk.   I was also invited to coffee with a mom of a teenager with Down Syndrome.   She gave us books and info to read.    Both listened to my stories.  Neither judged, and both understood my wide range of emotions.

Since we joined, we have attended pool parties, play dates, and even support meetings.   They hold activities for families of all ages of children.  They help families in their times of need, and help celebrate each step of our Journey.  Is a wonderful organization to be a part of.  Please join us in donating to DSAW, and help make some of Delaney’s and others dreams come true.  Thank you for your time.
